Nineteen years on, Xscape is back!
LaTocha Scott, Tamika Scott, Tameka "Tiny" Cottle, and Kandi Burruss have announced their reunion as the 90's group Xcape after nearly 2 decades of their last album "Traces Of My Lipstick" together.
"Xscape is Back. Thanks to all of our fans for your prayers & your loyalty," wrote Tocha on Instagram.
Fans and peers are already loving the reunion as Monica wrote, "Pretty dope to hear the women of Xscape say they’re going to work and tour again / It’s getting real out here again and I love it."
The group's debut album was in 1993, "Hummin' Comin' At 'Cha." They are responsible for hits like, "Just Kickin’ It," "Understanding," "The Arms of the One Who Loves You," "My Little Secret," "Feels So Good," and "Who Can I Run To." As a group they have released a total of 3 albums.
Misunderstanding between members of the group kept the them from reuniting over the years. Kandi revealed in 2013 that she was not so happy with Tamika for spreading rumors that she'd had sex with Jermaine Dupri's father Micheal Mauldin. "She said that just to make me look bad to people. She came back to apologize to me, but she never apologized in public…It’s not true. It was a flat-out lie. When people do stuff to try to damage you or bring you down to the public, that’s hateful," she said on V-103.
But we are happy they have finally let bygones be bygones and are set for a comeback.
"Now, we grown. We gon’ let the bygones be bygones. It’s the last time you will hear this. Anything after this is going to be our legacy and what we doing next," said Tamika.
Kandi went on to add, "We’ve been approached about a lot of different opportunities, I don’t like to confirm anything until the ink dries, but I definitely can say that I am looking forward to performing again with my group members."
The group even have a first group picture together in almost 2 decades.
