In preparation for his upcoming album “On Earth, and In Heaven” which is set to release on February 12th, Robin Thicke links back up with Pharrell for the new groovy record "Take Me Higher", his second single from the forthcoming album.
Robin was previously signed to The Neptunes Star Trak imprint for his last six albums. Pharrell has also helped produce some of Robin’s hits including the number one single “Blurred Lines”.
The new song Take Me Higher along with Thicke's last week released Beautiful will appear on the upcoming On Earth, and In Heaven dropping next month via Thicke’s imprint Lucky Music, in partnership with EMPIRE.
The highly personal album will dig into the immense loss Thicke has experienced over the last five years, including the deaths of his father Alan Thicke (2016) and his mentor Andre Harrell of Uptown Records (2020). “When I looked over my album notes, the phrase that kept coming to mind was ‘On Earth, and in Heaven’ and I realized that’s what I’m singing about: the people who aren’t here and the people who are here that I love and made me who I am,” Thicke said in a press release. “This music is the sunshine coming out after the rain.”
On Earth, and in Heaven will follow Thicke’s 2014 album, Paula, which was dedicated to his now ex-wife Paula Patton. The album will also include previously shared tracks “That’s What Love Can Do” and “Forever Mine.”
