Multi-Award Winning R&B Soul Group After 7 Celebrates The Release of "Unfinished Business"

Grammy and American Music Award nominees After 7 (Melvin Edmonds, Kevon Edmonds, and Keith Mitchell), best known for their dynamic and distinctive R&B sound, marked a 32-year musical milestone in 2021.

In 1988, these three talented young men from Indianapolis, Indiana, were brought to Virgin Records by the legendary hit-making duo Antonio "L.A." Reid and Kenneth' Babyface' Edmonds - Kevon and Melvin's younger brother, and the rest is history!

The global pandemic may have brought many things to a halt, but not the musical passion of the R&B group After 7 and their desire to bring their fans new music- a new album that reaches far and beyond their signature style. The first single release, "Bittersweet," was a fresh new take for After 7 and drew in a younger listening audience while still appealing to their loyal fan base. Followed by "No Place Like You", "Extra Mile" and the recently released, "Tomorrow Can Wait".

"Unfinished Business," the fifth album in the After 7 catalog and released via the SRG ILS Group/RoseWorks label imprint, combines love, heartbreak, and celebrations of the heart. Blending their signature smooth R&B style of true love and relationship songs, "Unfinished Business" is the album that will elevate R&B lovers to a different state of mind.

The lead single, "Bittersweet," is a song that delves into our favorite subject of Love, Life, and Relationships," shares Kevon. "I am fairly certain that if you live life long enough, you'll learn that you can't have the sunshine without the rain," he adds.

"No Place Like You was inspired by the thought of knowing that you can build a house with all the finest materials in the world with the best of everything in it. But in reality, it's not these things that make a house a home. It's the love from that special someone." mentions the group. The album-opening track, "Extra Mile," is guaranteed to you get you up out of your seat, grab a partner, and dance that extra mile into the next song.

Family is never too far away with After 7, and with the talent of brother Kenny Babyface Edmonds and Damon Thomas, the sexy, mid-tempo Steppers' Track, "Tomorrow Can Wait," came to life. For the first time, After 7 has a featured vocalist guest appear on a song with them. Award-winning recording artist Stokely joins them on the track "The Day" along with writing and producing the up-tempo "Sum Of A Woman." With 15 songs on the album, "Unfinished Business" is just that…real R&B, something for everyone.
