Mariah Carey Delivers A Not So Well New Year's Ever Performance

New year eve (December 31st, 2016) for Mariah Carey will be one to remember as the super diva closed the year with a blunder-filled performance on "Dick Clark's Rockin' New Year's Eve with Ryan Seacrest" live from Times Square.

With More than 1 Million people camped at Times Square and millions more watching from home and around the world, Mariah delivered one of the worst performances of her 25+ year music career. Some call it lip syncing gone wrong.

"We didn’t have a [sound] check for this song, so we’ll just say, it went to No. 1," she added. "That’s what it is…We’re missing some of this vocal but it is what it is."

"I’ma say, let the audience sing,” she continued. "We didn’t have a soundcheck for this New Year’s, baby. That’s okay, you guys…Get these monitors on, please.”

It was clearly heard that some of MC's high notes where embedded in the backing track that kept playing.

Mimi's reps later told TMZ that the issues were due to "technical difficulties."

How the show’s organisers, Dick Clark Productions, responded?

"As the premier producer of live television events for nearly 50 years, we pride ourselves on our reputation and long-standing relationships with artists. To suggest that dcp (Dick Clark Productions), as producer of music shows including the American Music Awards, Billboard Music Awards, New Year’s Rockin’ Eve and Academy of Country Music Awards, would ever intentionally compromise the success of any artist is defamatory, outrageous and frankly absurd. We want to be clear that we have the utmost respect for Ms. Carey as an artist and acknowledge her tremendous accomplishments in the industry."

Mariah later left a comment via Twitter. "Shit happens," she tweeted. "Have a happy and healthy new year everybody! Here’s to making more headlines in 2017."
