That feeling was great. It was a big responsibility to represent my country. Every second was very exciting for me. But It was my target and I did it. It is a big happiness for me to know that people love my song and till now they are listening and remembering me (Smiles).

What actually inspired you to a musical career?

It was my dream from my childhood. And my mom was the one who always believed in me. I was a kid who were always dreaming (Smiles) and I always liked to close my eyes and dream. I can’t say what was my inspiration but I can say that my life was an inspiration for me. I was always in a positive way and I always believed that I will get success.

What is the music industry like in Azerbaijan?

In Azerbaijan people love music. In Azerbaijan music splits in many ways. There is Folk music, we have Mugam music (this is Azerbaijan traditional music), especially in Baku you can hear Jazz and every year there is a Jazz Festival. In Gabala in the summer every year there is an International Music Festival and of course we have pop, rock...

Making waves in Germany, Austria, Belgium, Turkey to name a few at the age of 17, how did that affect and shape your music career today?

After my participation on Eurovision I worked for a few years in the music industry and on that time I met my husband and I got married. My life changed in a different way. Because I could not mix my musical career with my family life. It would be very difficult for me. So most of the time I dedicated to my family.

Your latest single, "High on Your Love" is out now and on VMN Music. What is the story and inspiration behind this new single?

I got an email from Michael James Down. He sent me a few songs and asked me to listen to them, choose one and sing it. After listening I choose “High on your love” and I really liked this song. It is a great song. I want to thank Michael for giving me an opportunity to have this song in my repertoire.

No, Safura is my real name it means a flickering star.

Every artist has their own style, voice, image. So it is difficult for me to say. Maybe viewers could see this and tell. For me it is a voice timbre which distinguishes singers.
