Eric Nam has announced his all-English sophomore album There And Back Again is due for release on January 7, 2022. Today, the Korean-American singer-songwriter shares his new single “Any Other Way'' available now available to stream on VMN Music via The Orchard.
Co-produced by frequent collaborator and GRAMMY Award-nominated Rabitt as well as Chris Lyon, the track is accompanied by an official video directed by Scott Lazer as well as a forthcoming live acoustic video shot exclusively on the iPhone 13.
On the inspiration behind his new single, Eric shares, “Let me go ahead and apologize for how addictive the whistling in this song is, but it just feels so good, and so right. There are moments in our lives where we feel incredible conviction and security in what we feel, believe, and love. This song is about loving who you are, wherever you are and whoever or whatever it is you love, and not wanting it ‘Any Other Way.’ To understand this sentiment and be 100% grounded in it is an incredible emotion and it’s this positivity, confidence and love that I wanted to express in this song. "
Nam’s 47-date headline There And Back Again World Tour kicks off on January 24, 2022, in Phoenix and hits 30 other North American cities — including stops in Los Angeles, Chicago, Toronto, New York, and Atlanta — before embarking to Europe and the UK in spring 2022. For bonafide global singer-songwriter Eric Nam, making music was something that always made him feel at home. As a newly independent artist, Nam is taking the reins of his career and building in unexpected and innovative ways. Beyond being a singer, songwriter, entertainer and TV personality, Eric stays busy as the Co-Founder and Creative Director of DIVE Studios, a podcast company he founded with his brothers in 2019 that has accumulated 1.3 million subscribers. There and Back Again, due out January 7, 2022 independently via The Orchard, marks Eric Nam’s foray into music on his own terms.
For Nam, the album’s meaning is layered, it reflects his experience of feeling like a foreigner no matter where he is, the highs and lows of relationships and also the physical journey of Nam relocating from Atlanta to Korea for the past 10 years and returning home to become an independent artist. On There And Back Again, Eric unpacks the album’s complex meaning and confronts past heartbreak.
