Bent Roads Tavern Releases Instrumental Cover of Barenaked Ladies Classic, “Jane”

“Jane is probably my favourite all-time Barenaked Ladies song,” Collen, frontman for Bent Roads Tavern writes.

“In BNL’s catalogue, Jane stands out to me because of its incredibly subtle but elegant melody and its extensively layered lyrics. We made our best attempt to convey the complexity of emotions embedded in the sentiment of this track without any vocals - it’s up to our listeners whether we achieved that.”

The song features both new and old members of the alt-folk rock collective, including the youngest member of BRT, Heidi Pittman on violin (Peach Panic, AJ Baragar Band). Additionally, John Abraham (Delirium Street Party Brass) returns on the slide trombone, and long-time friend Kevin Seel played the banjo.

This track marks the beginning of the lead-up to the release of BRT’s debut studio album, Clear Nights. Brite Lites. set to drop later this year.
