Q. What made you go into music and how long have you been in the industry?

For me, music is more than an art form. It can connect people from different parts of the world at the same time with the same feelings. Since [my] childhood, I was aware that the actual magic in this world, is the music. I am in the industry for more than 15 years.

Q. That is a long time to be in the industry. What are the challenges you have faced so far as an artist?

As an independent artist, the biggest challenge is getting into the industry. Also as an ex-pat that lives in a different country, it makes it even worse.

Q. How has the current pandemic affected you as an artist and as a person?

The pandemic affected the music industry a lot. A lot of venues had to close for good, and a lot of artists struggled. For me, the pandemic time was one of my most unproductive phases, unlike many musicians. Being stuck at home and not able to do anything was really challenging for my mental health.

Q. Tell us about your latest released project. What's the background and inspiration behind it and who did you work with?

My latest release is called Poppin` [Listen]. Capturing the excitement behind starting a new chapter in his life, ‘Poppin’ is a gorgeous sonic metaphor towards self-expression. Akin to the lightness of a feather, the main melody represents the liberation of the soul, uplifting and with a groovy touch.

I was working on this project by myself.

Q. Who are your favorite artists and how have they influenced your music and style?

One of my favorite bands is Portishead, and another artist is Nicolas Jaar. Their unique style influenced me a lot!

Yes, currently I am working on a collaboration with a great producer from the UK, also I want to make another experimental collaboration with another producer from Turkey, hoping to announce them soon!

The digital revolution affects mostly the music industry. My expectation for the industry is that the future is bright, now artists can reach more people even without a label.

Attempting to define success as an artist is difficult because it is a subjective term that varies widely from person to person. For me, success means that I have used all my capabilities to the fullest.
